Castles
Steeped in history, Ammanford has
it's fair share of medieval castles
and folly's. Carreg Cennen
the main
castle in Ammanford dates as far
back as the 13th century. Only a
stones through away are
Dryslwyn & Dinefwr
Castles
overlooking the villages of
Dryslywn, and Llandeilo, offering
superb views and insights into the history of the area. Couple
this with
Paxton Tower and the
picnic areas and
visitors can enjoy an excellent day out |

Lakes and Reservoirs
Ammanford's
main lake attraction is
Llyn Llech Owain, set
inside the
nature reserve nr Cross Hands
visitors can enjoy walks, bird
watching and wildlife in and around
the lake. The reservoir on Betws
Mountain makes for a challenging
but enjoyable walk.

Parks
and River Walks
Ammanford is set in rural surrounds
but that doesn't mean it hasn't got
top quality parks within the town.
Ammanford Park in the centre
of
town where one can watch a
leisurely game of cricket or bowls
on a hot summers evening, or
Betws Park with it's tennis
courts
and river side setting. Just outside of town the newly refurbished
Glanamman
Park winds it's way
along the river for a peaceful stroll.
A short drive through the rural setting of the Towy Valley and
you arrive at
Gelli Aur Country Park.
